During the 1600s, Huseby Bruk had the exclusive right to operate ironworks in Småland. The bog-iron ore from the lakes Åsnen and Salen was turned into solid commodities such as cannons and fireplaces. Iron goods were shipped further out in Europe via the seaways.

A feeling of melancholy lies at the heart of the machinery. The furnace’s darkness sneaks up on us, where the bog-iron ore was arduously melted into iron. Darkness is mixed with dreams of life outside as the light is filtered through the beautiful window blinds.
Carved wooden steps lead us to the mechanical workshop, where iron was processed and ideas became reality. Craft made by a human hand is visible in every detail that was produced to be used over generations.
